I started drawing animals from as far back as I can remember; I was always asking my Mum 'What shall I draw now...'? As my love for drawing & painting grew I started painting my friend's and family's pets and this lead to where I am today!
I am very meticulous and I love capturing details. I believe that's one of the reasons why I enjoy painting pets so much as I can focus in on those small details such as the fur or eyes which I feel helps bring the painting to life!
A little interesting fact about my work is that I always leave painting the eyes until last...as I love seeing the eye details bring out your pet's true character and likeness and bring the painting to life!
I believe we should work towards those goals that truly excite us and for me that will always be painting gorgeous pets! I am also very grateful to work as a Receptionist at a Veterinary Hospital two days a week - so no matter what day of the week it is, I am always surrounded by beautiful pets!
Why pets in particular?...I have always loved animals! I've had so many wonderful pets over the years myself and so, I completely understand the bond you form with them and how they become part of the family.
I also (unfortunately) know the heartbreak when they are no longer with us and the importance of having something special to remember them by.
Every pet owner will know the pain of losing their lovely companions and so the opportunity to have a unique, bespoke painting or sketch of their pet can be such a comfort and help to cherish those precious memories. This is why it is so important to me to offer a variety of Pet Portraits to suit every owner's budget, but without compromising on the quality or details of my work.
I like to show my paintings side by side with a reference photo to give you a more clear picture of the detail I capture. This is the gorgeous boy, Tom (painting vs reference photo).
*This is why it is so important to send as many high quality/crisp photos of your pet as possible so I can capture all the fine details.
